Wales Vs Ireland

Apparently my blog was stolen for a short time by some Monkey type creature, while this is not immediately an issue, it did make me realise I haven’t been doing my blogging duty of late and I plan to change this.
This time I’m changing my approach, I’m going to keep a diary of events rather than the more random links to cool shit I had previously.
Today’s blog may prove of interest to the rugby fans out there, I was minding my own business in work, writing up Java Documentation for a project i was previously working on, when Simon (My boss) comes in say “C’mon, we’re

This is the diary of Bob the Monkey, a friendly little chap who went on a long journey to find his new home.

Poi

Thursday, April 20th, 2006

Quite simply, last year my house mates (you know who you are) bought me a lovely pair of Fire Poi. Now this seems like a good pressie for a juggly type person like myself. However, i had absolutly NO idea how to use the buggers…. till now. Miskin has provided me with lessons from Simon in how to do Poi. I just needed 10 minutes with someone who knew what they were doing and i was set. I can now do simple stuff but its a start.
So i was chatting to linzi about Labyrinth, and specifically the Dog from it (Ambrosius) and then got chatting about Contact Juggling (Bowies character does it) then followed the Wiki

Blast from the past

I’m not entierly sure why i was looking at my old uni user space last night at godawful times of the morning, but i decided to update its front page to point to warmfusion.co.uk. To do that i logged in via Webdav (well.. i used NetDrive to map it to a drive letter) and i found all sorts of cool stuff.

Warmfusion along the ages
Warmfusion Original
The user site is the original edition of my new alias of warmfusion created back in early 04. Sitting on the floor of my grans house at Xmas designing a new madtaj website i decided to scrap the name for something new and easier to spell. After much thinking warmfusion

Top class geekery

I updated the Notices page on Planet Comscare with news that i was thinking of making a noo theme, I couldnt help myself and added a few sneaky features already. You may have noticed the little + next to the titles of each post, its the beginning of a cookie based system of showing/hiding all posts from users or wotever so you only see posts from people u want to (ie, not urself as u know what uve written).
The other less noticable feature is the navigation bar has been upgraded so you can place stuff where you want it, again this isnt complete as i dont actually store your prefered layouts etc but after half hour work

Why am i here?

Tuesday, January 31st, 2006

Its Nix, Its 5 and im still here for another hour….
Ive been around this deparment since 9 this morning. I’m going to go mad. Thankfully i’m surrounded by peeps in a similar situation. Still sucks the proverbials. Found a handy book on Huffman Enc. for Neil and also found out that Alternative Neil has 7000+ rows with the word “porn” in the domain name on his DB. Always good to know such things. I want to convince him to let me have a query box to see words in domain names. Fat chance thou, takes AGES to search.
Got a phone call from someone today asking to visit the house… i’m not sure why i’m getting all the calls, especially when

Hey all, nothing too interesting, its 1AM and i have a lecture at 9, have a funny feeling that Factory aint going to be much fun this final semester. :( Didnt go out with Gav in the end wasnt too bothered in fairness, wasnt upto going out anyway. And i actually managed to do some work on my Final Year Project :O I didnt actually do anything specific, i spent an awful lot of time sprucing up my code i wrote over xmas. Changing Points to DoublePoints and then to Point2D’s etc (took about half hour of pissing around to do that), removed a ton of code from one class, moved to others etc.
But anywoo, i managed to

Business Class

Found this guys Business card, its a steel die cut which forms the basis for a set of lock picks :D
From the site:
“A hacker, entrepreneur, and all around mischief maker, Melvin wanted something he could give to peers and prospective clients that spoke of this nature.

A lockpick concept was chosen very early on, and the post production results were excellent. The picks can quite easily be removed from the card and are entirely functional as lockpicks.”

Geek Factor 9

Friday, January 20th, 2006

Hey people,
In my efforts to avoid work, i have managed to create something thats reasonably cool, its a Phobia list, but not just any list, oh no. It has a simple text box as its interface, thats it. Start typing the name of a phobia and it’ll autocomplete and if u use the cursors to select (havnt got mouse selects working yet) it’ll show you the definition to the side.
Check it out here, its not pretty, but its a demonstration of the principles. :)

Howdy Fellow Geeks,
i bring forth news of nothing what so ever. ive been keeping an eye on the internet for interesting things to blog about, but alas it has not been forthcoming of late. bit of a slow month in all fairness, the closest i goto was the Voodoo Knife Rack, Parking meter lollipops, or possibly to proove there are greater geeks than i, a musical dot matrix printer.
In other news, i started my exam period with Compilers, which was actually a enjoyable exam. I had a good knowledge of the content and so the questions were simple to answer, the only tricky bits were logical problems of application more than recolection, like playing Sudoku, u
