Company Name

Saturday, August 27th, 2005

Hey, me and ben have been throwing the idea of setting up a psuedo company identity for us. At the moment, any web design or app work we do is credited to ourselves, which is all well and good but we’d like to share our wealth of experience and have a corporate identity with which we can advertise our services and gain more portfolio work for future job prospects.
However, to that end we require a Name to use. Combinations of our current alias (warmfusion and doushite) are hardly family friendly with WarmShite and DouFusion… so we need something more innovative.
Current ideas have been things like ImagineIT, FirstImpressions etc but most of them have been taken.

Adverts

Friday, August 26th, 2005

Ok, i admit it, ive turned to the dark side, but only out of interest.
As you may or may not (ie using AdBlock) have noticed ive got google text ads on the blog, i hope they’re not obtrusive and fit into the page reasonably well. I’m just trying them out to see what kinda income they can actually provide to a fledgling site like mine :)
If you wanna make me rich and thus get me to buy u pints, cook bigger dinners or pay peoples rent then click the adverts as much as u can, get ur friends to visit, get ur parents to visit, get anyone with the net to visit :D
Cheers
Mr T.

I love the BBC

Friday, August 26th, 2005

The BBC is planning to release the BBC 1 and BBC 2 television channels onto the internet. You will be able to stream the live broadcasts directly to your computer, no more crappy TV Tuners for us, oh no. This is the start of a beautiful thing i think. Once other channels see how much demand there is for internet TV they will start realeasing content over the net. It probably wont all be free, but i bet Sky will soon sort out something that’ll pick up ur subscription and let u watch the shows. Its going to be an intresting few years ahead of us, with the ever increasing internet speeds, highly reliable web connections

Cmon Guys, BLOG!

Friday, August 26th, 2005

Ok, so im sat in work, its 14:20 and im bored, i *think* ive got work to do but i cant for the life of me remember/be fucked to do anything. I wanna be getting on with stuff and finalise this damn website, but atm its just getting slower and slower to add content to the pages. Its pretty much done apart from needing someone who knows the company better to go through it and just add things to some pages. A marketing type would be useful for some wording as well mind, but thats just life.
Anyway, back to my post…
BLOG YOU BASTARDS, im bored off my tits here and i want something interesting to read/comment on. ive bloged

My Next Job?

Friday, August 26th, 2005

Ok, so im gonna try and put up a poll, who thinks my next job should be that of a court jester. How cool does that look? Apart from annoying kids alla time i think this’d be a laf. BBC News has an article about being a jester which is where i got the idea. I still wanna be a blacksmith, but jestering could be fun too :)

Rotating heads

Thursday, August 25th, 2005

Hey, after seeing how much fun that video about voiceover guys was, ive been floating around and i found this which i thought i’d share with you. Its a mask of Charlie Chaplin on a pedestal set to slowly revolve. This seems fairly simple and boring, but just watch the vid and try hold the idea of the mask being hollow as it rotates. You’ll find it real hard to stop urself seeing a mask going outwards (towards the camera) rather than the hollow inside of a plastic mask going away from the camera.

The Voiceover Stars

Wednesday, August 24th, 2005

This promotional video for the Hollywood Reporter’s Key Art Awards is fantastic. It’s fun to put faces to the familiar voice over stars from big budget hollywood films.
“Nothing could ever prepare you”

Windows 95, Ten years old today
Read the Washington post article about its hyped launch from ten years ago.
For the lauch of Win 95″The extraordinarily extensive testing they (Microsoft) did makes a show-stopping bug a pretty unlikely occurrence,” said Chuck Stegman, a vice president at Dataquest Inc., a high-tech market research firm in California. “Someone would have stumbled on it already.”"… like we all did once we installed it for the 5th time or wondered why it blue screened
On the day of opening series of office shops stayed open to cope with the flurry of customers coming in to buy the OS for the princly sum of $90… “I’m just trying to stay awake,” said
